Cardiac rehabilitation
Cardiac rehabilitation aims to help you recover from a cardiovascular event — such as a heart attack or heart failure — or other debilitating heart condition. This recovery process usually involves physical therapy, exercise and education to rebuild and maintain your heart strength.

Cardiac rehabilitation services we offer
As you work through our cardiac rehab program, you will gradually progress in time and intensity of exercise under the direction of trained nursing and exercise physiology staff.
Our cardiac rehabilitation program
While in our program, you will be educated on how to judge the safety of occupational and recreational activities outside of the rehabilitation setting. Additionally, you are provided with education on risk factor modification, medication usage and the emotional aspects of heart disease.
To enroll in the program, we schedule an appointment time for a registered nurse to call you for a short telephone interview to discuss your medical history. At the time of the interview, we ask that you have the following information available:
- A list of your current medications
- The make/model of your car and the license plate number (a parking pass for the cardiac rehab parking lot or valet parking will be available)
- The name of your primary care physician and their office number
What to expect
As you put in the work, our cardiac rehabilitation specialists will work hard alongside you to ensure you recover as quickly as possible. During each rehabilitation session, you will wear a heart monitor to assess heart rate and rhythm. Blood pressure, blood glucose and oxygen levels will be measured frequently. Our nurses maintain close contact with your doctor, updating them on your progress and ensuring agreement with your plan.
