January 29, 2025

Hermitage, TN — TriStar Summit Medical Center is pleased to announce it has been named to the 2025 Healthgrades America’s 250 Best Hospitals list, which recognizes the top 5% of hospitals in the country for clinical excellence. Based exclusively on patient outcomes, the annual designation is reserved for hospitals who demonstrate superior performance in providing care for conditions and procedures across multiple specialty lines and areas. This is the third year in a row TriStar Summit Medical Center has earned the ranking.

“Exceptional care starts at the bedside,” said Daphne David, chief executive officer at TriStar Summit Medical Center. “Our physicians and colleagues are driven by our organization’s commitment to clinical excellence and safe, effective and compassionate care.”

To be considered for the list, hospitals must first have evaluations in at least 21 of the 31 Healthgrades procedures and conditions using independent, publicly available Medicare inpatient data from the Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MedPAR) file from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). To determine the top hospitals for 2025, Healthgrades then evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide.

Healthgrades also recognized TriStar Summit for numerous accolades related to its exceptional patient outcomes in key service areas, including:

  • America’s 50 Best for Vascular Surgery
  • America’s 100 Best for Critical Care
  • America’s 100 Best for Pulmonary Care
  • America’s 100 Best for Stroke Care
