Songwriter and TriStar Hendersonville patient dedicates song to his caregivers
TriStar Hendersonville colleagues recently had the privilege of hearing a special song written by patient Mike Holloway, better known as Kuntry H. He’s faced a long and difficult medical journey, including seizures, infections and a complex illness. Mike has spent much of the past six months in and out of TriStar Hendersonville’s care — and through it all, he continues to shine light on those around him.
Despite the daily challenges he faces, Mike is determined to give back to the caregivers who have supported him. From delivering fresh coffee to the emergency department to lifting spirits of the nurses on the medical surgical floor with humor and hope, Mike reminds the staff why they do what they do. Mike was a guest speaker at a recent leadership meeting and shared the powerful song he wrote and dedicated to the TriStar Hendersonville team. It was heartfelt, personal and deeply moving.
In Mike’s own words: “Everyone knows me here, and it’s close to home. Y’all are great. If it wasn’t for the staff, I would not be here today. During my last hospital stay, I decided to start writing music, and I dedicated [this song] to TriStar. I want to let people know that they’re appreciated. To the nurses, doctors, staff, caregivers – thank you.”
Please take a few minutes to enjoy the song, “Not All Heroes Wear Capes,” by Kuntry H., dedicated to TriStar Hendersonville colleagues.
