Sisters strengthen TriStar StoneCrest's women's services

On National Sisters Day, TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center proudly highlights the inspiring bond between two dedicated staff members, sisters Kerri Kairdolf and Rebekah Richard, who work in the women’s services department.

Kerri Kairdolf, a clinical nurse coordinator (CNC) on the labor and delivery/mother-baby day shift, has been a valued member of the TriStar StoneCrest team for over 18 years. Her sister, Rebekah Richard, a CNC on the mother-baby night shift, joined the hospital family two years ago. Despite their different shifts, the sisters' connection is a testament to the “Care Like Family” theme embraced by TriStar StoneCrest.

“The best part of working with my sister is that we bond over our work life, and I get to see her when I walk through the doors,” Kerri said. “We have a passion for what we are doing, and we love to work together when we can and partner in taking care of our patients.”

Rebekah’s journey at TriStar StoneCrest is especially poignant. She has had all five of her children at the hospital. Kerri labored with Rebekah and assisted in delivering four of her sister’s babies, giving them their first baths. Rebekah graduated from nursing school in 2022 and joined the TriStar StoneCrest family, initially starting on the medical/surgical unit before transferring to women’s services. The excitement was palpable as Kerri had the privilege of orienting her sister during this transition.

“Working together has given us another level of bonding as sisters,” Kerri shared. “We have a lot of respect for one another in each of our skill sets. We love to bond over our experiences at work. Our bond is strengthened because only a nurse understands a nurse, and it is so nice to have my best friend working with me and understanding the complexities of nursing life.”

The sisters' relationship brings a unique dynamic to the hospital environment, enhancing the care they provide. “It is very surreal to walk into work and get a report from my sister,” Kerri said. “We are 15 years apart, and I never thought that we would be working together as nurses at the same hospital. We are very close, and it is really such a gift to be able to work together.”

Rebekah always ensures that things are ready for Kerri’s day shift, knowing how particular she is about starting her day at work. “It’s also really fun when people figure out that we are sisters!” Kerri added.

This National Sisters Day, TriStar StoneCrest celebrates Kerri and Rebekah, whose sisterly bond exemplifies the profound impact family can have on one another’s lives and the lives of the patients they care for within our community.
