TriStar Hendersonville expands cardiology and imaging for growing needs of Sumner County
TriStar Hendersonville is pleased to announce the grand opening of its Electrophysiology (EP) Catheterization Lab as well as the enhancement of imaging equipment.
TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is pleased to announce the opening of its Electrophysiology (EP) Catheterization Lab that will allow cardiologists to perform more complex cardiac procedures. The EP cath lab enhances the ability for cardiologists to diagnose and treat complex heart rhythm disorders. Instead of looking at anatomy and blood flow in and around the heart, EP focuses on examining and mapping the electrical system within the heart.
If a patient is suffering from cardiac arrhythmia, an EP study can be performed to determine the location of the electrical “misfire” within the heart. The misfire can then be fixed by implanting a pacemaker or defibrillator, or by using an ablation procedure. TriStar Hendersonville will perform right sided ablations.
“With the addition of the EP cath lab, TriStar Hendersonville is able to expand the complexity of cardiac services offered north of Nashville,” said Justin Coury, chief executive officer. “This investment in technology reflects our dedication to providing our patients with the latest technology and the best possible outcomes.”
TriStar Hendersonville is also increasing its diagnostic imaging capabilities with the addition of a 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner that opened in mid-November and a new CT scanner expected to open in December. With the addition of the new MRI and CT scanners, TriStar Hendersonville will be able to provide improved diagnostic capabilities with the latest in medical imaging. Both new scanners offer advanced clinical applications, patient comfort and high-resolution imaging with improved scan speed for accurate medical diagnosis.
