Cardiac services we offer

From advanced diagnostic testing to corrective surgery, our team of cardiovascular specialists is committed to providing you with high-quality care.

Emergency heart care

We partner with our local emergency medical services (EMS) to enhance our cardiology services. Our EMS partners can send us heart tests from the ambulance with electrocardiograms (EKG). This allows us to activate our cardiac catheterization (cath) lab and get our experts in our emergency room ready to provide treatment immediately upon your arrival.

Cardiac diagnostics

We were among the first hospitals in the country to use cardiac scanning technology to view plaque buildup in the heart. Our heart specialists do this using computerized tomography (CT) scans with incredible speed. With this technology, you receive a quicker diagnosis and avoid more invasive testing.

We also offer cardiac calcium scoring to help detect buildup in the coronary arteries.

Cardiac cath lab

The cardiac cath lab, conveniently located near the emergency room, consists of a large suite with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Our lab services involve the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease in addition to interventional options, such as angioplasty, stenting and pacemakers.

Cardiovascular surgery

Sometimes, your treatment plan may require surgery. Our experienced cardiovascular surgeons perform various surgical procedures to treat heart and vascular diseases and conditions.

Cardiac rehabilitation

Much like physical therapy after an injury, your heart needs to recover after heart surgery or a heart attack. With our cardiac rehabilitation program, you can access supervised exercise sessions and personalized treatment plans designed to help rebuild your cardiac strength.

Innovative care for cardiac arrest

We offer mobile therapeutic hypothermia units as an added safety and care measure. These allow us to use therapeutic hypothermia to treat people experiencing cardiac arrest. Once the heart begins beating again, healthcare providers use these cooling devices to lower your body temperature for a short time. It can be a good choice if the heart is restarted, but a patient is still not responsive. The lower temperatures help lessen inflammation of the brain and can reduce further injury.

Recognizing a heart attack

More than half of all heart attack patients experience early warning signs. Knowing these signs can help you get the treatment you need quickly, before permanent damage occurs.

Signs of a heart attack

If you are experiencing a heart attack, our team can treat heart attack symptoms before permanent damage occurs — if recognized quickly. Some beginnings or symptoms include:

  • Chest discomfort
  • Shortness of breath or trouble breathing
  • Shoulder or arm pain and weakness

These signs may occur hours or even weeks before a heart attack occurs. If you notice any of them, it is crucial to call 911 immediately.

Restorative care for hearts and lives

For Rene, a husband and father of two, sharing kindness is a way of life. He approaches every interaction with warmth and consideration, so when he experienced a cardiac emergency, he found himself on the receiving end of the kindness he shows to others.
