NICU

The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) provides critical care to newborns who are ill or premature. Many factors may lead to a newborn being admitted to the NICU, including low birth weight or complications during delivery. The NICU staff works closely with parents to develop a treatment plan for their newborn.

Neonatal services we offer

Neonatologists are specially trained pediatricians who care for critically ill infants and premature newborns. At our NICU, our neonatologists offer compassionate treatments to care for a range of newborn conditions and illnesses.

About our Level II NICU

Our smallest patients are born between 32 and 39 weeks. Some babies in the NICU may be as small as 3.3 pounds. Our neonatologists also see full-term newborns, 39 to 40 weeks, who have a condition requiring advanced care. Additional services we offer include:

24/7 neonatal monitoring

We use web streaming cameras in the NICU. Each camera is mounted on the wall near the infant’s bed. Families can view their babies 24/7 through a password-protected live stream, allowing family members who cannot be at the hospital to stay connected and close to their growing family. It also enables parents to leave the hospital while still being able to monitor their child at the NICU.

As part of the TriStar Health family of hospitals, we collaborate with the pediatric team at TriStar Centennial Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. This ensures that our pediatric specialists are available to you and your child 24/7 for immediate, remote consultations.
