More than care, Troy found comfort, faith and friendship at TriStar Greenview

After a week at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, Troy left not only grateful for the exceptional care he received, but deeply touched by the meaningful connections he and his wife formed with the team who cared for him. What began as an unexpected hospital stay became a source of comfort, faith and friendship—so much so that, as they headed home, they realized they would truly miss the people who had become more than caregivers.

Heading home, grateful for the care and the people

After a week at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, Troy is finally heading home. While he’s grateful to return to the comfort of home, he admits there’s something he didn’t expect; to miss the people who cared for him.

Earlier this year, Troy came to TriStar Greenview’s emergency room in need of care. Within minutes, he was in a room and receiving care. The speed of care was a welcome surprise, but for Troy and his wife, Linda, what stood out even more was the compassion of the colleagues who cared for him.

From the emergency room to the orthopedic floor, they experienced more than clinical excellence. They experienced genuine connection.

What began as routine conversations quickly grew into meaningful relationships. Caregivers took time to sit, listen and get to know Troy as a person, not just as a patient. That personal connection helped bring comfort and peace during an uncertain time.

Josh, a nurse on the orthopedic floor, made a lasting impact. Through conversations rooted in faith, he offered encouragement and reassurance throughout Troy’s stay. The moments they shared in prayer and reflection became a source of strength for Troy and Linda when they needed it most.

Each person they encountered brought something unique: everyone had something to share, and everyone had something to learn.

By the time discharge day arrived, the relationships built over the course of the week had left a lasting mark. What started as a hospital stay had become much more personal.

Before leaving, Troy and Linda wrote a heartfelt letter to the care team, thanking them not only for the care Troy received, but for the connection they felt along the way.

“We are thankful to be going home,” they wrote, “But we are going to miss our friends.”

They say they will always recommend TriStar Greenview to everyone they know, not just for the care, but for the people who make it so special.
