Symptoms and causes of chest pain
It can be difficult to know when chest pain is the result of heartburn, heart attack or something else, such as lung or digestive issues. The ER at TriStar Skyline will help diagnose and treat emergency heart issues.
Symptoms of chest pain
Sudden, unexpected chest pain can be a potentially life-threatening symptom or a warning sign of another condition. It can occur when your heart is not getting enough blood. It may also be more or less severe based on your pre-existing conditions. Chest pain caused by heart problems may come with other symptoms, including:
- Lightheadedness or dizziness
- Nausea
- Pain radiating to your shoulders, arms, neck, jaw or back
- Sweating
Causes of chest pain
Common heart problems that cause chest pain include:
- Coronary artery disease

- Atrial fibrillation
Types of chest pain include:
- Stable angina - generally has a predictable pattern and intensity
- Unstable angina - unpredictable pattern, more severe and intense

Minimally invasive procedures are on the leading edge of effective cardiology treatment. Our cardiac cath specialists perform minimally invasive procedures in our cardiac cath lab, where we are able to provide patients with access to both simplified and complex procedures, including angioplasties, myocardial biopsies and stent placements. We also perform angiograms, or X-rays, of the inside of the heart vessels.
Cardiovascular surgery
If more conservative methods are not effective at treating your heart or vascular condition, we offer advanced surgery options at our hospital. Using state-of-the-art technology, our surgery team is able to perform:

We also have a wellness gym monitored by a cardiac registered nurse (RN) to help you regain stamina and strength.
