Prostate cancer treatments and services

No matter where you are in your cancer journey, whether you have recently been diagnosed, are undergoing treatment or have recovered, you need support. In addition to a wide range of cancer screenings, therapies and surgeries, we offer prostate cancer patients access to cancer support groups throughout the Greater Nashville area.

Prostate cancer screening

Screening tests are the most effective way to detect prostate cancer in men 50 and older. Your doctor may also administer the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test, a rectal exam or a minimally invasive diagnostic imaging procedure.

Prostate cancer treatment

The prostate is the male reproductive gland that produces semen and sits in front of the rectum and below the bladder surrounding the urethra. When the part of the prostate surrounding the urethra continues to grow, it can lead to an enlargement of the prostate that can then lead to cancer. If you have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, it is important to talk to your doctor about what treatment options are available.

We treat your case like the unique case that it is, with treatment plans never being "one size fits all." As such, when we're determining your best course of treatment, we take several factors into consideration, such as the stage and grade of your cancer, your age, other health conditions and potential side effects. Given those factors, some of our prostate cancer treatments include:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Hormone therapy
  • Immunotherapy
  • Prostate cancer surgery, including prostatectomy
  • Radiation therapy
